The Capital Area Humane Society is auctioning off a rare 1994 Star Trek Franklin Mint Sterling Silver Insignia Collection with Case.

All proceeds will go toward helping the 10,000 animals they see each year.

We saw Star Trek over the weekend with jadecat , lazycatsteve and donuthunter at the IMAX theater. I'm really glad we paid the extra amount to see it on the huge screen because there is nothing like seeing splashy hi-tech action scenes on a huge screen.

Majel Barrett Roddenberry, actress and wife of Star Trek creator Eugene Roddenberry, died peacefully at her home yesterday December 18 at 12:27 am from leukemia. She will be missed.

Star Trek The Tour is a 50,000 sq ft traveling interactive exhibit that has props, models, motion-simulator rides and sets from all five Trek series and all ten Trek films. It has been in California this year and is finally coming to the Midwest with the first stop in Detroit. It's had some great reviews and it looks like tremendous fun.
